Trine 2 launches for PC, Mac, PS3 and 360 in December. Unfortunately cross-platform multiplayer is not supported in any of the Trine games, so playing between PC and PlayStation 4 is not possible. We'll know more after the game is out and we see all the feedback etc".
Kinnunen also commented that campaign-based DLC would likely be incoming "but that will take a while (perhaps in the spring next year).
Speaking recently on the Frozenbyte blog, VP Joel Kinnunen, revealed that the game should run for "around 6-10 hours for most people" and noted that, similar to the original, the game will feature a lot of replay value "especially if you enjoy playing online multiplayer, and there's also all the experience orbs and hidden chests to collect." It shouldn't matter if you are using non-drm or steam version. Host can set up a private game with a chosen password, then the client will search for an online game and write the said password to the lower part of the screen (search games with a password or something) and s/he should see the game made by the host. If I join them, their character lags and I can't see my character and within 15 seconds the game disconnects. It's impossible to play with other players and they can't play with me.
